World Book Day
A huge thank you to all the children for coming to school today dressed as their favourite book characters. It has been fantastic to see so many amazing costumes – from Disney princesses to Harry Potter, and even an astronaut!

A fantastic morning was had by our Waltham gymnasts at the end of last term. This event encourages discipline and time management, with the children practising their three routines: Core Skills, Ribbon and Vault.
After success for Y3/4, it was the turn for our Y5/6 team to showcase their dodging, ducking, diving, catching & throwing skills. A hugely popular event amongst schools with 17 teams taking to the court. The schools were spilt into two leagues with Waltham collecting victories against Brownlow B, Long Clawson, Great Dalby, Asfordby Captains Close and Bottesford to finish top of their league. They progressed to the final where they fell short to Brownlow A. A brilliant effort by all in what is always a fast played and highly competitive event.

Following brilliant running performances at Longfield and Ratcliffe, Waltham had 11 qualify to represent Melton & Belvoir at Rutland Water. A huge well done to Marley, Bobby, Bruno, Billie, Harmony, Lyla, Sienna, Summer, Edison and Stanley. Edison and Stanley qualified to represent Leicestershire and Rutland at the National Finals on March 21st. Best of luck boys.
A kind-hearted pupil from Waltham-on-the-Wolds CE Primary School has been recognised for his outstanding fundraising efforts after winning the Young Hero of the Year Award at the Let’s Get Moving Melton Awards.
